In the early 1970s this Gucci Shield adorned the Gucci Boutique in Katz & Lourie Jewellers, Diamond Corner, Eloff Street Johannesburg.
After the re-location to Sandton City in 1982, this magnificent shield once again stood proud against one of the marble pillars that flanked the Gucci Boutique in Katz & Lourie Jewellers.
This shield remained in the store until the mid 1980s when Gucci opened their own independent store.
This shield remains as the only one of its kind in South Africa.
