"Our vision for Gravity is for a wine that is strikingly individual and graceful – reflecting the best from the vines and soils of the Stellenbosch appellation", said Radford Dale founder, Alex Dale. "We purposefully strive to be unique with Gravity. There is no recipe - just a vision to produce a balanced wine that stands-out through gracefulness rather than showiness."

The Nudity Syrah is from a single Syrah vineyard, rooted in ancient granite soils on the East facing slope of the famed Paardeberg mountain. These vines have been organically farmed for the better part of 20 years and achieved organic certification in 2010. No addition of any kind was made during the vinification of this wine. The barrels were carefully chosen so that the wine could be matured for a year without the addition of any sulphur. Mostly older barrels (3rd and 4th fill) were selected so that the delicate and intricate nature of the wine would not be obscured by any oaky notes. After the final blend, the wine was left to settle for two weeks before bottling, with no fining, filtration nor sulphur addition at all, hence the name Nudity.

Edouard Labeye is the winemaker at Radford Dale and a pioneer among winemakers in Southern France. Based in the Rhone Valley in France, Edouard works with many of the top emerging estates from the appellations of the Languedoc and the Rhone Valley. Twenty years of incessant, hands-on toil have filled him with knowledge and skills that combine effortlessly with his natural good humor and flair. His masterful technique and the superior grape growing know-how on the fruit are the building blocks for great wine. This lot includes a handful of his French wines.
