More Information

A grower since 1750, Champagne Moussé was the first member of Club Trésors de Champagne to make a Spécial Club wine of 100% Pinot Meunier and the first Club member to produce a Rosé de Saignée Spécial Club. In the vineyards, Cedric Moussé adheres to a ‘lutte raisonée’ approach. He practices organic viticulture, using herbal infusions that act as ‘vitamins’ for the vines, cover crops, zero pesticides, and minimal doses of heavy metals like copper. His new winery, completed in 2012, has solar panels powering the cellar, tasting room, and 2 houses on the property, while geothermal energy moderates temperature throughout the winery. An underground spring provides enough water for irrigation on the farm.

Anecdote from Moussé Fils is an extremely fine Blanc de Blancs champagne. Elaborated exclusively from an atypical Chardonnay, as it was created from a micro-vinification of Chardonnays grown in the location of “Les Varosses” in Cuisles - the only parcel with rich soils over Illite (Green clay).

"The NV Brut Blanc de Blancs Anecdote Lieu Dit Les Varosses emerges from a parcel in Cuisles. Lemon confit, orchard fruit and floral nuances are now nicely mellowed by the passage of time in this disgorgement from a few years ago. This release marries the energy of the Moussé house style with the softer contours that can only develop in bottle. Dosage is 5 grams per liter. Disgorged: February 25, 2016." - Vinous Media 91/100

"Shimmering light gold. Fresh apple peel, honeydew melon, pomelo rub, discreet almond blossom and yeast pastry. Crisp acidity, very straightforward, racy on the palate, good complexity, lemony aftertaste, exciting finish." - 93/100, Falstaff

"Disgorged with five grams per liter dosage in February 2016, Moussé's NV Extra Brut Anecdote Lieu Dit Les Varosses offers up a lovely bouquet of buttery pastry, crisp yellow orchard fruit, beeswax and gingerbread. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, broad and ample, with a frothy mousse, a deep core of ripe but vibrant fruit and a long, nutty finish. Flavorful and complex, this is drinking superbly well." - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate 94/100
