Bodegas Rodero was established by Carmelo Rodero who belongs to old winemakers in the Pedrosa de Duero riverside town. He spent much of his childhood between wineries and vineyards and therefore had a lot of enthusiasm and dedication towards winemaking since the beginning. He and his wife Elena began a journey to make the best possible wines using the local grapes. The wines made by the winery have won numerous local and international awards. Carmelo’s daughters, Maria and Beatriz have now joined the family business as well.

The company has 140 hectares of vineyards that are distributed to take advantage of the various soils and maximize the qualities of the grapes. Vineyards are average 30 years old, and the climate of Ribera del Duero region suits viticulture. The main objective of growing high-quality grapes is fulfilled by controlling and working in the vineyards in a personalized manner. The Atlantic influence causes dry summers and long winters that work perfectly with calcareous clayey soils of the region.

Tempranillo, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot are used to make red wines by the company. The unique vineyards work in tandem with the modern winery with the best innovative production techniques. They use a patented, unique winemaking system that pampers grapes using gravity and no pumping. The latest technology is combined with tradition to make top wines here. Their collection has young intense as well as mature wines with great structure and elegance.

The TSM 2009 featured in the World Ranking of Wine and Spirits - Top 100 Wines in the World. This wine is made with Tempranillo (75%), Cabernet Sauvignon (10%) and Merlot (15%) grapes from the winery's vineyards that are over 40 years old. The wine is made in the traditionally and ages for 18 months in 100% French oak barrels.
