Prints vs Reproductions: Why the Difference Matters

If you’ve ever browsed an art market, gallery, or online shop, you’ve probably seen works labelled as “prints.” The trouble is, this single word can mean very different things. Sometimes “print” refers to an original hand-pulled artwork, and other times it’s simply a mass-produced reproduction.
While both can be beautiful, their processes, value, and artistic significance differ dramatically — and knowing the difference helps you buy art with confidence.
