Mzie born and bred in the Eastern Cape in South Africa, he matriculated at Ngcongolo S.S.S. After matriculating Mzie went to work in factory for 7 years, whiles’ working at the factory the artist in him was brewing and came to boil when he received several warnings and let go by management who told him he didn’t belong in a factory. Instead of writing incoming and out ongoing production reports he was engaged in creative dialog and distracting the other employees. He took the management comment to heart and followed his passion and talent that is when he enrolled in basics in art course, sponsored by a company who identified his artistic talent. The company was later liquidated but the artistic bug had bit, the creative industry was calling Mize and he eagerly responded. In 2008 Mize obtained a certificate in Fine arts and he pursued his studies further and successfully completed a three-year course diploma at FUNDA COMMUNITY COLLEGE. Committed to turning his artistic talent and growing it into sustainable business, he completed a certificate in a creative business development workshop hosted by the world-renowned artistic entrepreneur Ralph Seippel and the department of arts and culture.
