4to, xiv + 441pp. Original hardcover bindings with gilt letting to spine, and gilt inlay to front board. Top edge gilt. Deckled edges. With a loosely inserted compliments slip from the ‘Directors of Barclays’, frontispiece of Frederick Goodenough, and 69 fine monochrome plates, collated and complete. Each plate has a facing tissue paper to prevent offsetting.
Condition: Very good. Light rubbing to boards, light sunning to spine, and a few small spots of wear to spine. Previous owner’s discrete bookplate fixed to front pastedown. A few minor instances of foxing to the pages and edges of textblock, and a few small stains to a few pages. A well bound copy.
