AIR FORCE CROSS (GEORGE VI) DATED 1945 Air Force Cross (George VI) dated 1945. The Air Force Cross (AFC) is a military decoration awarded to officers, and since 1993 other ranks, of the United Kingdom Armed Forces, and formerly also to officers of the other Commonwealth countries. It is granted for "an act or acts of exemplary gallantry while flying, though not in active operations against the enemy". Awarded to T/W/O CCH Dash in April 1945 for service with 24 EFTS. In original box of issue together with Part II order confirming London Gazette 37012 dated 3rd April 1945
