The garment with a central split, woven with silvery-white on a deep blue ground to create the celestial landscape set with nine five-claw dragons amid lingzhi-shaped clouds and flames interspersed with bats, cranes and Buddhist emblems all above a tall lishui border issuing auspicious symbols to include rocks, a vase containing three halberds, scrolls and lotus blooms above the hem, the collar and horse-shoe cuffs cut from black silk woven with golden dragons soaring amongst clouds and Shou-medallions, all hemmed with golden silk bands woven with black prunus blossoms on a cracked-ice ground above a fine band of gilt-thread, the neck and side hem applied with gold and black loops each fastening with a gilt bronze button, very good condition, minor age wear, stains, minor discolouration
