In English furniture lot 402, a George III mahogany chest on chest (estimate R15 000 - 20 000) is a good example still with the original hardware and minimal restoration. For collectors of Chinese furniture lot 418, a large altar table beautifully carved with chi dragons, endless knots and bats is on offer at an estimate of R45 000 - 50 000.

 

The Cape furniture session features a stinkwood and beefwood armoire (lot 424) at a pre-sale estimate of R150 000 - 180 000 as well as a teak Queen Anne side chair (lot 422, estimate R4 000 - 6 000), both items that rarely come to auction.
